Welcome to Yumekuni.

Yumekuni (夢国) "Dreamland" in japanese, is a personal blog about rock music, retro video games, japanese media (anime, manga, shows), and also my personal website. When I was a kid, I always wanted to make my own personal website to write things I'm doing or to review or share media I like, such as music and weeb stuff like anime and other shows.

Actually, I previously had a blogger when I was 11 years old; this was also my Sonic phase, where I did a fan site and wrote about the things I was doing, mostly related to my Gamemaker engine projects. Recently, the retro trend of the nostalgic days of the 2000s early internet like Web1 and Web2 era got me, so I went to neocities and nekoweb to look at the stuff people were making and got very interested in making my own thing too.

So I've made this website my safe space, so I could practice writing about the stuff I like, music, movies, manga, and whatever I feel to express. I did some time machine browsing to construct this site, so I can remember how the websites looked back then, because when I learned HTML it was a modern era already. While doing this, I remember back then when I started using the internet on lanhouses [⌕] (a place where you rent a time to use a computer and internet access for various purposes, like a Korean cybercafé), in that era, this it was how a lot of people could access online multiplayer games like Counter Strike and MMOs from that era like Tibia, Grand Chase, Ragnarok, and many others. I could not experience that much myself since on my LAN's people always played CS 1.6 and I'm not very good or enjoy FPS games. My MMO era happened at home already, even though my internet speed wasn't that great.

But from that time, what I always loved was how the internet was back then 2007–2010 (the time span when I got more contact with computers) when everyone had their personal blog or even websites, though social media were already very popular. Maybe it's just me nostalgic, but using the internet that way made everything more special than what we have now, with our brains being constantly controlled by recommendation algorithms.

I'm planning a lot of things to do here, like having a day of the week to make specific posts about something I did watch. I'd focus on goofy movies from the 2000s and write a quick review for that.

Another thing that I wanted to do for a while is blog posts about music bands. I have stuff to talk about it, I've been searching and willing to write articles telling their story, my impressions of each album, and what they mean to me.
